Perhaps her boldest composition, this mellow palette of colours suggest the turning of the season, as all the boldness and vitality of summer wanes. We see a hint of an autumnal green and a background that reminds us of the dark colour of wet rock. As a painterly exercise, this is a delicately balanced composition, expressive and yet with an assuredness of someone pushing the formalities of their art and exploring new territory.
